Yep and thanks for the directions. Didn't see any views, Total white out :D. It's really a great tour down there, Not very challenging, no low range work but the forest is unbelievable. (Border Ranges NP - MEBBIN NP - Mt Warning NP). Doing Mt Warning climb in May with friends.

It is a great drive in the wet, which it always seems to be there. We stop for lunch at the shed with the fire place and keep warm.
That lookout has an excellent view of the Tweed Valley when the clouds aren't there.

mrapocalypse, I assume that it's aslo got a 2 inch lift with those tyres?
Looks great and those MT's really fill up the wheel arches!

It would have been better had we been able to see the view cos the Blond babe in the passenger seat, ie Mrs Apocalypse, got pretty bored splashing around in the mud! Whereas I, on the other hand, coulda done it all day! There's a lot to see and do down there. I recommend it!
D2 has a saggy OME 2" lift! When I first saw it in the tyre shop I was a little shocked. It's pretty Tonka! Those Mickey T's are a very remarkable tyre, pretty full on MT but really quiet and better grip than the Cooper ST in all conditions... I'm stoked.

That's what it should have said,;)
LOL
I was actually wondering my D2 did not seem to come with the passenger side factory inclusion. Do we have a LR part number I can use to source a similar aftermarket modification?

Here's a shot I took of a D2 a few years ago. It's on the Lower Block track on the Avon River (pre flood & fire damage). The photo ended up on the vehicle owners web site, and then LROCV asked if they could use it on their site, which is where I've lifted it from to paste it here.

Can anyone tell me the name of those rims on mrapocalypse's D2?
I have the same rims and I am trying to find another set, 2 spares and 2 for a trailer.
I always feel a little silly calling a wrecker and saying "those 5 spoke rims with the dish ing the middle of each spoke"
Cheers,
Tim

The tyres are 285/75/16" federal m/t's (33s) on standard off-set 16x7 dynamis steel rims, he has a 2" tough dog suspension lift and the tyres did rub at first on the plastis sills on the side, he just took them off and no more rubbing:cool:
It's a v8 and he hasn't changed the gearing, it nocked his speedo out by about 10kms;)

Its a d1 standard arb winch bar which he cut down to get the sahara bar look:cool:
There were a few modifications he had to make but nothing to hard:)
I have some pics of him cutting it up, i'll post them up later;)

Hi Tim,
They are your factory D2 rims as far as I am aware .... they are the same as what came with mine.

Nothing special, just a way to go forward in a Russian style.
If you can't open picture try to open this link:
photoon.ru/gallery/displayimage.php?album=124&pos=88 (http://photoon.ru/gallery/displayimage.php?album=124&pos=88)
One can see my head beside the snorkel and this is a good illustration of classic Landrover "command drive position".
P.S. It is far away from turnover but actually Disco goes on three weels - one can see a water wave infront of bumper.

They are called "polar", all the wheels have the part number stamped on the back of them, just give that to the "wrecker", details all here on page 10 of the PDF file ;)
