Just fitted a 2nd battery in the D3 with the Traxide SC40. If I use the clamp that came with the Traxide kit on the -ve terminal and battery box cover doesn't quite fit on.

Is there anything wrong with using the second terminal in lieu of the post as shown on the photo?

Cheers.

No in fact a screw down connection is better than a pressure fit one anytime. Why not swap the positive over as well?

Thanks Derek.

Agree that screw connection (nylox nuts came with the battery) is a better connection mechanically but my question was really about the current rating of this terminal compared to the terminal post.

Having said that there's next to no load on this battery and no cranking amps at all.

Was going to say the same thing i fitted new super charge batts to the rangie a while back now and both have only the threaded studs i use brass nuts and staino washers on em and they are heaps better than the poxy clamps i rekon :D:D:D

As for load id say the threaded studs would be more than capable of 500+ amps i have no probs with my cranking battery with the studs

it may depend on the battery. I was looking at an optima blue top this morning and that battery comes with a warning to only use the screw post for low amp accessories.
