Hello to all on the forum.

I joined last year with the intention of getting out and about in my Disco which I found myself 'lumbered' with after marital split.
All good intentions of joining in on a club drive were thwarted by work or other commitments. Also I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the vehicle or not.

So....I can't sell the Disco for the price I want (to clear the debt) which leaves me in the position of paying it off until its mine and then probably keeping it until I'm in a rocking chair with crocheted rug over my knees.

With this in mind I want to get serious about getting this machine where it belongs....out bush as my Toorak Tractor has never been off road.

Would someone please advise me (again, oops, forgotten what I was supposed to get) on the bare necessities kit wise for a trip.

Also, out of curiousity is there a women's only landrover forum on here?
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated so that I can get out and about with you guys as you seem to have so much fun!

Cheers

Welcome Back:D

a womens only forum?

it can seem so at times:p:p:wasntme:

as for off road kit,,
a front and rear tow point, snatch strap, and rated shackle would be a minimum.
a well maintained(serviced) standard D2 will get you into and out of most places,,

Driver training is offered by most Land Rover clubs

Search is your friend;)

yep theres a woman landrover club.

most members are easily identified by looking in through the drivers side window and counting the pedals in the drivers side footwell. :)

and theres a lot of people around here that get by wearing a blue and white stripey apron.

Have a look at the GCLRO link below, they are a fairly active group both on the forum as well as having regular trips catering for all levels of drivers. Even though they are based at the coast there are a lot of us from Brisbane who travel down for their meetings.

Yes I'm female and I looked over the forum groups and so many are geared towards 'guy' interests and that prompted me to know if there was a forum for women to chat about 4WD 'stuff'!

What he said. I'm a bit of a girl when it comes to cars ( a big, hairy faced girl) and I get by. Land rover owners are very patient with their novice club mates. The Gold Coast club is also very family focussed so there are wives attending with their Land Rover husbands as well as the female club members.

I have also been to a meeting of the Brisbane club and neither are particularly testosterone centric.

The next LROC Brisbane meeting is next Monday night 20th April (at Moorooka).

You are most welcome to come along and have a chat.

Some more info can be found at www.lrocbrisbane.org.au (http://www.lrocbrisbane.org.au)

We are happy to see new faces and you will be in plenty of good company with a D2.
