Badly corroded switches.

Whats the best stuff to use to remove corrosion from some brass electrical connections on my boat (I have all of the corroded bits off of the boat) ?. Also what can i use to keep the corrosion to a minimum as Inox obviously isn't cutting it ?.

Wire brush, sandpaper etc will usually remove it. I use lanolin or a thing called "corrosion control" from Mercury dealers (expensive to buy at around $20 a pressure pack) but it is good. Brian

I'm more after something that I can maybe soak them in as there are a few plug type connections and the switches and terminals are a bit delicate so i wouldn't like to attack them with anything more than an old toothbrush. I was thinking of dropping them into a jar of Coke unless anyone knows of a concoction that would work a bit quicker as I'd like to get her back together today.

Thats the ticket, I knew there was an old school fix but I couldn't remember it. I'll give some of that "corrosion control" a go too.
