97 tdi300
sit about half way BUT it is not an accurate indication of real temp. Mine reaches its NORMAL position at about 52 degrees and is still sitting in its normal position at about 90 degrees. So at best its only a temp indicator. Get yourself a electronic safety water temp warning device.

Before you get too concerned, check the temp independently of the gauge (laser thermometer or something...). The gauge & sender are very sensitive to poor earthing and can make you think you're overheating when actually everything is fine!!
