Well seeing that the most of us who did our tax returns last year will be getting our little easter bonus from our goverment. Now are you going to be spending wisely or just blowing it on anything and everything????

I myself is going to be doing a major service on my D1 and maybe if anything left might get some lift springs and a snorkel. my wife on the other hand is going to spoil her self with makeup, hair do's and some things for the kids.

So what is everyone else going to be spending on?????

Spreading the wealth or spending it on ya rig?????

cheers simon

Part number is FTC 1740, give Stuart/Rovacraft Vic a buzz, ask for OE/ genuine ones NOT the aftermarket cheaper ones. Ages ago I had an aftermarket one,(NOT from Stuart/ rovacraft though) and the thread wasn't even correct:mad:

The way that comes across I could be offended and offer up the argument that at least I'm willing to work 232.5 hours a week in a public service job for bugger all compared to private industry salary.

Reminds me of a bloke, who I now work with again, hes over half a century old now, still lives at home with Mum, I hassled him for 3 years, when I was 18-21, offering GOOD money, cash of course, to buy his mathcing numbers, Diamond white XY GT he had sitting for over 10 years dormant......he said if you find me a wife, I'll sell it to you:eek:

Now that is one long week.:p

Yes it is.
I get 1 1/2 hours each week day that I'm not at work or the after hours help desk. I spend an hour of that 1 1/2 driving to work giving me half an hour to shower and be ready to leave. While it can be quite at times you also get the 3 am calls and all the evening calls.
At least this sunday they remembered to wish me a happy easter when calling.

If you got all your tax back then no, you wont get any of the stimulus package. ($900)

Mine's gone on a 12/240V fridge.

My wife misses out because she overestimated her income with DSS by $8 (she is kicking herself). Saving my daughter's for a computer for when she starts prep next year.

Matt, if I'm still living at home at that age please shoot me, I don't care who . I have no issues with my parents but that's just not right although I never imagined still being at home at 31 either but sometimes life doesn't quite work out the way you plan it  (but I refuse to rent and help some over-indulgent rich ***** make there millions off me either) so you can't have it both ways I suppose.

With my $900 'Ruddy money', but some beer, more beer and do a few trips and that'l pay for fuel for the dunga and upcoming repairs :D:D:D

Geez George. thats pretty good seing as there are only 168 hrs in a week total.;)
Not at all criticising people for their lifestyle choice or job choice, but I am highly offended because I just hit the $100k mark and miss out. High proportion of tax paid to support bludgers who dont really want to work and then I have to wait 2 years before I can even consider unemployment benefits when I am officially made redundant at the end of April and then dip out on the bonus as well. Should be paid to all taxpayers if it is going to be done.
I may have been on good dollars but work away from home for 6 months of the year and am on call 24 / 7 plus live in a remote area where the cost of living is at least a 1/3rd higher than Sydney and pay high tax rates so the infrastructure of your cities can be kept intact, so be careful who you criticise.
I earn good money because I work hard and am prepared to live in remote areas. Living in a terrible place like Esperance is just the downside.:p

George130
14th April 2009, 09:00 PM
Ok yea mis calk. Make it 160.5 hours.
What I was pointing out was just because you earn under $100,000 a year doesn't mean your not working or productive.
In My field of work in private industry I would earn way over the magic cut off. I also agree that there were much better things for the gov to have spent the money on but since they insist on giving it I'm going to take mine and use it on the things I need to.
I would still be spending the $$ on the rig without the $900 return.

With the on restricted duty time we did it for 7 years without pay because it was needed and we cared. At least now management has decided that they have to pay us now. How many other people would be willing to do that for nothing. Think about it. Taking calls christmas day just because you know the job needs to be done and getting nothing in return, not even a thank you and sometimes abuse by silly idiots who have no idea while thinking the univers revolves around them.

It depends how you got your last tax return.... I think if you got it into the bank that's how you will get your $900. ( mine arrived this way)

Otherwise.. watch your letterbox..
