I have just picked up a 2001 TD5 and am loving it.
This is my first Land Rover and I am still learning heaps. These forums have been great already!
I was hoping someone here might be able to answer a couple of super quick questions for me. Apologies in advance for the dumb questions!
1. I think it was once fitted with factory fog lights - the switch is in the dash and there are two plugs suspiciously empty in the engine bay. I'm wondering whether its worth trying to find and install some again? I had a quick google and it looks like the lights themselves go for $100-$200 each used (!) so I'm not sure whether this stacks up. Any thoughts?
2. I bought from a dealer who (on my request) arranged for the head gasket to be done (including replacement of plastic with steel dowels) before purchase (it had done 200,000 km and the mechanic who inspected for me recommended it). On delivery and driving home I discovered a big oil puddle on my driveway. Don't know much about these things so I called RACV who discovered a very loose fitting of an oil line into the turbo.
Apparently the mechanic who did the work (not the guy who did the inspection, I might add!) forgot to tighten the nut and the oil sprayed out on the journey home. This was cleaned up and corrected at dealer's expense but there still seems to be some oil wetness on the fitting and a few oil drips on the driveway overnight (one or two drops at most). I'm wondering whether the two washers on this fitting should be copper rather than fibre? (see pic - this was taken before the fitting was tightened) Any other hints for possible slow oil leaks?

3. I've already ripped out the in-dash clock thanks to advice on this forum and replaced the blown globe with a replacement (purchased for $1.30 at Dick Smith at lunchtime today). There are also a couple of lights out on the stock cassette deck. Does anyone know whether replacing these is as easy as the clock job?
Anyway, thanks for reading and appreaciate any tips!
Cheers
