View Full Version : The worlds best winch... i have it and broke it

Guys, needed a snappy title just so you would look....lol

I bought a 3000lb winch to use to move the cars i have with no running gear in and out of my yard so the car crusher can pick them up....

its a very neat little unit and $100 delivered via ebay, i was happy...

BUT you get what you pay for....
winching the 110 up from the front to the shed.... Flat ground mind you... BANG.....

Cracked the alloy winch drum, blew the end of one side, pulled the bolts out of the motor casing and sheared off the free spool....

So i contacted the seller and he is sending a new one out....
How sweet is that...

so when the new one comes, i'll strip it and measure up the drum and make a Steel one and then make it not so flimsy.....

And if that fails.... the 8000lb 8274 will have to be a made mobile...

Yeah!! Were you using a snatch block of flat pulling with the winch? Get a small ATV snatch block to distribute the load and the winch may last longer! :D

OH come on! you gotta be a dufus to use a hand winch... He's just to learn to use the one hes got properly!!

They winch: up; down; along; and back. They are even rated for lifting.

Hmmm, from winches to budgie smugglers and baby oil :confused:Back to winches me thinks. Almost anything can be made or designed to be shockproof, dustproof, waterproof or whatever proof is desired. but nothing can ever be Clarkieproof :p;):D

Yeps... used block and guess what.... i loaded it up even more....

It did not break in the fashion the 1st one did...

BUT i'll post pix..
