I've turned into such of a coffee snob in the last couple of years that if I run out of beans, I'd rather drink black tea than instant coffee. It's a bit sad really.
Here's the reason why...

Tea drinker - real tea with leaves although at work it's tea bags, usually drink a couple of mug fulls each time.
Trouble is real tea is getting much harder to get around here, 1/2 an aisle for tea/coffee with about 1/2 metre of one shelf for tea leaves :mad:.
Been importing tea from Qld lately (must import more or find a local supplier).

i cant stand the smell of coffee.......
its tea for me.......all day....every day........
the stronger the better.......with just a splash of milk......
as for taking time to brew a proper tea in a pot..........
add boiling water to tea leaves...(not bags) in a pot with a couple of pieces of cinamon sticks
and some cloves.......
tea measurements......one teaspoon per cup.....and one for the pot......
ie.....if making 3 cups of tea......you will need 4 teaspoons of tea leaves......

I've turned into such of a coffee snob in the last couple of years that if I run out of beans, I'd rather drink black tea than instant coffee. It's a bit sad really.
Here's the reason why...
I find automatic machines to be pretty.... expensive for what a person gets out in taste.
I have an auto and a manual machine and the manual machine wins hands down. Could even put supermarket beans in to it and get a drinkable coffee. But the auto doesn't have that ability IMO.
the autos are good when your running out the door and you want it quick. That's the only time mine gets turned on anyway.

I'm a coffee snob though I do enjoy a green tea or peppermint or cinnamon tea on occasions. I have my Gaggia Classic and my new Sunbeam grinder and I know how to use it. I've got an order in with Toby's Estate for some new beans to try... hopefully it will arive this week:)
I can't drink instant coffee at all any more - YUCK!
That said there's nothing like a warm glass of good mead on a cold night (unfortunately we don't get them up here).

Coffee...definatley nothing out of a can or jar..that's not real stuff..we have a Nespresso machine at home, it's the closest thing we have found to get a good coffee at home, otherwise we have the Bellaroma factory just around the corner..they know us well.

I just wanted something that would make me a proper coffee as fast as an instant coffee. No muss, no fuss.

Tea, except when in the USA or McDonalds - Americans (including McDonalds) do not know how to make tea - with boiling water not hot water, and preferably with tea leaves not bags.
I too have found tea (as opposed to tea bags) getting a lot harder to find, but I have found a place called Tea Leaves in Yarra Glen in Victoria. They stock about two hundred varieties, and their prices are quite reasonable. (actually, tea made from leaves, even good quality tea leaves, is one of the cheapest drinks you can get).
I stock Earl Grey, Terry's Blend, plain green tea, Jasmine, Cinnamon & clove, Chai and English Breakfast plus peppermint.

Mmm I used to be a coffee person (ground my own, none of this instant stuff) but since my dad no longer works in a fancy restaurant and brings the beans home free anymore I've switched to tea -- if it has to be the bag variety, Lady Grey (Twinnings) is the pick, or I use leaf tea that I got when I was in India - nice variety of Assam and Darjeeling teas, but running out quickly :( and I don't mind real chai masala if I can be bothered making it properly..

long black espresso in the morning, sometimes lunch time as well. Tea for the rest of the day. I would drink plain hot water if I did not have tea. As for instant coffee, no thanks.
When camping I take a plunger.
No milk with any of the above, only for cereal and babes.

<snip>
Don't worry, I'm the same.
If I can't have a real coffee, it's tea.
Love a chai, and it has to be made properly. Have a couple of favourites ATM, all loose leaf as they should be.
Toby's make a good one as does Byron Bay Chai (i think that's the name ? ) T2 has too much cardamom in their loose leaf version for my liking.
We've been drinking a lot of herbal brews by a herbalist from down the valley, made from weeds out of the local paddocks and creeks. Place the dried weeds in the plunger, add boiling water and let it brew for five to ten minutes.

Fortunately coffee making has not been adversely affected by the change in altitude.:p

Oh, completely forgotten about one of them, have it sitting in the new shed, picked it up for nothing, fixed it, gave it a clean used it for couple of cups of coffee and the kids pressed too many buttons too many times and it's been sitting waiting for attention ever since.
The other one is a single group Boema that needs a new element and a new skin.

Definately Coffee.
We have a Isomac with a mini mazzer grinder.
Freshly ground coffee in the morning, mid-morning, lunch, after lunch and afternoon.
I like mine short with just a stain of milk. Machiato style.
No sugar or foreign substance.
On my camping trips I look for powered sites, generators and the like and we often take the gear with us.
There can be line ups for coffeee some mornings and even the guys from the shop that sell me the milk for the rest of the camping grounds swing by.
I always get paid out for bringing it first though till the morning . Hehehehehe

Generally good coffee, but while in Bali I got some really nice ginger tea. Had a chest cold and our driver took us to a coffee / tea and fruit place and got me some ginger tea (free to try) and it helped immediately so I bought some and brought back. Very nice. My BIL had the flu when we got back and he had some and it also made him feel a bit better and helped him sleep.
We also got some Luwak Coffee, awesome coffee and has no bitterness at all. $50 a cup in Australia. For those that do not know a Luwak is a type of wil cat that eats the ripe coffee beans ad then craps them out. They are collected, cleaned and roasted. Best coffee I have had. They were a little suprised that we were so keen to try it, but we are used to collecting Quandong and Sandalwood nuts that Emus have digested. It tends to make the nuts much sweeter.:o:o
The Ginseng coffee and the cocoa was really nice as well and made on site.

Put a shiny coin in a cup, pour in perc. coffee until the coin vanishes from sight. Then add akvavit until you can see the coin again. This is what enabled my ancestors to cross the North Sea in open boats with ice in their beards.

Persons who confuse Danes with other North Germanic language groups (this includes English) are likely to have a saxkniv inserted roughly into their rovhul.
