Hi all,
A magazine article, which I recently came by, suggested that the rear drive shaft on Discoveries that have the flexible rubber joint should be replaced with a shaft from a Range Rover. These shafts have the traditional universal joint and are supposed to be much stronger for off-road use.
Has anyone had this done to their Disco?

Yeah i've been wondering about this, was there any point in the discovery's life when the 4 bolt flange and uni was fitted as standard as thats what mine had when i bought it? (jan 1997 build)

I think it was late 94 or early 95 when they updated the front grill that it was changed.

All D1's with 300Tdi's AFAIK had the donut.
There were some Update D1 V8's that had universal joints, I have 2 1998/99 D1 V8's that have unis.
