Put my detroit locker in my rangie & I dont think the viscos transfer
likes it. Its makin all sorts of noises. The last 2 cars I had it in had
lt230 transfers and were fine, but this one skips the rear wheels
when turning sharp & sounds like its going to break.
Anyone else had a problem with a locker & viscos????
might have to look at putting an lt230 in..........

Hi Jeff, is the viscous coupling siezed? If not, then even the preload it has may be enough to lock the detroit:(

LT 230 sounds like a better solution anyway...

tune in on pandas thread on the Ibex, Im answering a similar question for a different reason, what is happening and has happened to your VC is caused by the same thing she is concerned about and is experiencing coupled with your VC being a little on the way out.

it could also be your locker is set up to "tight" and keeping the wheels locked when it should be unlocking. i have had this problem in a sierra before, it was like driving with a welded diff.
