View Full Version : What are the smallest Rims that I could fit to a 2005 HSE V8 (that has 19" std rims)?

I have a 2005 Disco3 HSE V8 with std 19 inch rims and 255/55 19 rubber. I intend to go off road more often and want to invest in a set of rims and tyres for that purpose.

Given the relative low profile of the tyres (Michelins fitted), I wondered if I could replace the 19" with 17" Rims (steel or alloy) without the need for changing the brakes/discs.

If I can what tyre/ RIM combination should I be looking for.

Thanks

18" for the V8s. For 17"s you'll need brake mods. Not aware of any aftermarket 18" rims, I think LR charge around $1100....each.

I have a set of 19"s with MTRs for sale ;-)

Hey mate,

As stated by RMP....18's is minimum size due to the brake callipers. As for rims, when I had my D3...same as yours....I got GMAX 18 inch rims to suit at around $300 odd dollars from memory. Pics of the rims here:

Hey Beardy...I was running 255/55/18's...which in fact the wrong tyre...just took it as a given seeing the 19's were 255/55/19's. THey should have been 255/60/18's,

I could have some original LR 18" rims (5 of) available VERY soon.

If you are interested, send me a PM & we can see what we can work out.;)

Hi
I needed a second spare so I got an extra 18" factory LR 10-spoke from Detroit Wheel & Tyre for $380, landed in OZ in 5 days.
Certainly cheaper than LR wanted. The wheel appeared new.
