roof rails! sayin gday :)

hey every1 just registered. nice site! i just boughyt a 99 freelander 3dr! love it! but im finding it really hard to get onto some roof rails for racks!! if any1 is selling or know of any for sale much appreciated if u could let me know!

I know you have probably looked on eBay already but keep an eye out there. I picked up a brand new set from a Land Rover dealership a couple of months back for $5. I think they were getting rid of old stock now that the FL2 has been out for a while. If not I think you will find most aftermarket brands will have a size that fit.

hey thanks mate, yeah tries ebay, i will still keep an eye out there. and wen i rang the local dealer he said $900, but thay dont make them and have none left!!! might try a few wreckers.

I have roof rails that I have taken off my 2002 freebie 5 Door. If they fit your 99 3 door you can have them for nothing. I just fitted an 'Outrack Roof Rack' kit from Safety Devices (in the USA). Lucky to have found a kit because they no longer produce them. Email me at dirtsettlersgold @ dirtsettlersgold and I will give you directions where to collect the rails from.

Were these 3 door racks or 4 door racks - any after market rack will fit a 4 door but 3 doors are specific the the car and are completely different because of the soft top - they curve back over the rear and bolt on somewhere on the body near the rear tailgate.

Here is the 3 door system - there is no where to screw down a full 4 door rack

I've got a 4 door. I was under the impression that byby_v8 was after the cross bars only. By the looks of the it the cross bars in the photo are exactly the same as mine. The ones that run the length of the car are very different though.
