Now I have had my 2.7 ton HSE D3 balance on two diagonally opposite wheels and seen LR promo’s extolling this ability, so I checked my original equipment 10 spoke genuine LR 18” rims and found they are stamped MAX 940KG, WHICH IS A TAD SHORT OF the 1.35 ton I subjected the car to. My tyres must be 1030Kg or better, so what’s the real rim spec’s?

What are your genuine LR rims stamped as being load rated to?

Would not think it should be an issue. I have not heard og any D3 wheel failures.

that load rating is for constant, safe working load.

obviously, you dont spend all day with your D3 on 2 wheels, nor do you drive any distance on only 2 wheels

dont worry about it

Not worried about 940kg rating, but I have been looking for 17" rims for my trundle bus and had emailed several manufactures about weight rated rims and one reply said they had tested to 1050kg but stamped the rim as 960kg load rated, so I checked what was on my rims and got a big surprise at the low number.
