Hi there,

well after a year or so of driving Bluey the handling wasn't brilliant so thinking of the corrugated roads you have I thought they would ruin the shocks in no time so I have just replaced them today.

I bought a set of shocks and springs marketed as Terrafirrma in the UK for ~£400 which were apparently made in the same factory as OME but a lot cheaper (obviously). The makers mark is Dobinsons, well the springs are great but the shocks are not!

I have 100lt water tanks and an extra 45lts fuel tank in my 110 but without them being full the motor was wallowy in its handling(with roof tent). I have fitted OME extended shocks today and after only a few yards I could tell that the handling was miles better and the ride a lot firmer - I'm tempted to replace the front shockers now. The replaced shocks will be used as spares.

Its the old storey isnt it......everyone wants the best, but no one wants to pay.

And sometimes we do pay a bit more for supposedly quality, and end up with crap:(

I would prefer to pay more if i know i am gonna get a better quality product or service,i hate doing things twice:mad:

I was told by ARB that Monroe make the OME shocks, he said they where completely different just made in the same factory.

So you most likely have ended up with a pair of Monroe shocks.
