I am looking at getting some personalised plates. They come in the following sizes:

Standard (3 to 6 characters)
372mm wide x 132mm high
Slimline (6 characters)
372mm wide x 100mm high
Slimline (5 characters)
315mm wide x 100mm high

I don't pick up my car until Saturday 2/5 (hopefully), so I can't measure the area at the back myself which I know sticks out a bit to the left.

Can someone tell me if they have gone down this path before?
Whilst I realise a standard plate should fit fine, I just wanted to know if the slimline will fit or whether it would look stupid as it is not high enough or wide enough?

Opinions appreciated as I don't want to spoil the look of a new Deefer!

Cheers,
Sleepy

Cheers,
Not sure on the PUMA but my Td5 has full length slimline front and rear.
I reckon they look ok.
I think if you go for the 5 charachters you don't need the "sticky-outy" thing:D

Thanks Sleepy - you are reading my mind. Pretty sure looking at your pics there would be no difference between your car and the Puma.
I was thinking of the 5 characters so I don't need the "sticky-outy" thing. But, are these things standard on the car of do the dealers add them? Does anyone know?

Hey thanks for the feedback Pommy. Did you take it off yourself? Did it leave marks on the car? I certainly don't want marks left on the car...unless I am doing it myself odd-road!:)

The "sticky outys" were part of the ADR for the Td5 and I presume the same for the Pooma. :D
I'll go and measure mine, I have seen 4 characters without a sitcky-outy but never seen 5 charachters so can't say.
(That's the 5th time I've refered to the sticky-outy today :lol2: If it hasn't got a name, it has now.)

I have slim line ones on mine. Fits just the same as on a Td5 or Tdi or County with the tab on the body out to the side. In keeping with the rest of the vehicle I rivet my plates on as its easy to do and also means they can't be easily removed either.

The vehicles arrive to the dealer with this bracket already attached.

I'm glad we don't use "sticky outies" over here, mine would be long gone..........

Not quite Derek, One Ten's had the rego plate on the rear cross-member, making it a bit more vulnerable off-road.

I have six digit slim line plates on my 110 county, i chopped the number plate and joined it back together overlapping the sides (no photo's at moment), not sure of the legality of this:eek:

It's quite common for rego plates to be trimmed a bit on a County; my normal size plate sits where it does on a Defender and I don't need the sticky-outy bit:D
