G'day all,

An email i received yesterday from Philip Robinson (LROCV)
information below please contact him if you are interested.

cheers,

Chris ;)

Hello Chris,

As a country member of LROCV, I come across farm retired vehicles in Western Victoria.
As an active Series 2A driver and vehicle restorer, a farmer has offered a short wheel base 88" 2A located near Camperdown
in reasonable condition for "a loving home" at no charge.

You may know of a club member that is looking for a project like this to form a bonding relationship to Land Rover.

I have taken photos and obtaining it's history, so will be able to answer the next line of questions after interest surfaces.

88" S2a SWB Hardtop
Rego No. AXN-774
Id Plate No. 8814149
Twin tanks right 10 gallon & left side 15 gallon.
Holden Engine + thermo fan cooling
Heater
Free Wheeling Hubs
McManara rear difflock - one that you lock with a wrench!
Spare Gearbox
Roofrack & Bullbar
Bodywork & chassi ok
rust on right door hinge section on bulkhead.

Regards
Philip Robinson

Oh DAMMIT!!!
I'd freaking kill for a free Series Rover. It's almost worth getting a cheap flight over to Melbourne and driving it back to Perth ;) Anyone know how much it would cost to get the car transported from Melb to Perth?

I've never even owned a Land Rover yet. I'm that desperate ;)

Hi Subasurf,
I was that desperate too! I had been bidding on various vehicles on ebay, calling people from trading post etc, and finally one an ebay auction for one i bid on 6 months before. Wasn't free though :-(

Hang in there! You will find one local to you.

Also, if anyone has an old style MacNamara locking diff that isn't needed, please PM me :)

Cheers,
Mark

Hang in there subasurf - one will appear. Have you stuck an ad in the Wanted section? Often old landies are stuck in sheds and forgotten about - if you make it known you are looking you may motivate someone to "get rid of that ol landy". Maybe for free, maybe for not much. Often people are happy to see there old landy go to someone who will love it/restore it. :)
