IF you have windows xp or vista just use Movie Maker to import all the clips into one movie.

You can add music cut & change etc.

Its fairly easy to use and very good for beginners and perfect for making youtube videos.

I already have movie maker, but for some reason it doesn't want to import the vids or pics from our camera, it will do both pics and vids on my brothers camera and my crappy video camera, but it just doesn't want to have anything to do with the pics/vids taken by our camera:(
Anyone else had this problem?

It'll be a driver issue. What OS are you running, is it up to date and have you installed the latest driver from your camera manufacturer's website?

If you're running Vista with an old camera you may have issues.

Cheers.

OS = Operating System aka windows xp, windows Vista, Linux, Unix etc etc

As you have xp and current hardware it might be worth checking the service pack level of your OS.

right click on "My Computer", click on properties. It should be at least service pack 2 but service pack 3 has been out for a while now.

You'll need to convert the videos to *.wmv or mpg before you use Movie Maker. Save the video files to your PC using whatever software came with your camera and then convert it to the correct format using something like Prism Video Converter Software - Download to Convert Video Files (http://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html).

Should be fine after that.

Cheers

Tim when you upload your vid or pics to the computer from your camera, windows should automaticly convert the files to mpg files, then you can use movie maker to bring them across, don't add a soundtrack.

Once you have made your movie, upload it to Youtube and choose music from their cataloge, these songs have no copyright, if you use your own, Youtube will take the audio off, you need to find non copyright music now to use as a soundtrack.

I'm using this program at the moment.

Surely it would need to be uploading to something to be converted....to a program of some sort.

No, when I upload my pics and vids to my home or work computer, they are Jpg and Mpg files, I use windows uploading system which converts them, I then upload to Photobucket.

When you've made the video, you can easily burn the file to a DVD using windows or nero or roxio etc.
