Pre 1989 car import regs

CARS BUILT PRIOR TO 1 January 1989 - the Australian Motor Vehicles Standards Act 1989 was amended on the 1st July 1992 with respect to older vehicles. Although an import approval is still required no other criteria need be met i.e. the car would not have to be owned and used in the originating country for more than twelve calendar months. Vehicles must have been built prior to 1 January 1989

does this mean, i can bring in a Land rover with ease??? from UK

im guessing yes, think these rules came in after we imported ours, does it allow lhd, yet.

dunno if the rules have changed for LHD vehicles......
but as far as i know.......if its over 30 years old.......and LHD.....you can drive it here legally......just gotta have a left hand drive sticker on the back......
it can be registered as a left hand drive vehicle.......
