Not directly.................. there are hives kept at work, but maintained by an Apiarist.

Love that sweet, sweet honey. :)

I had 3 working hives but got wiped out with hive beetle. I now know a way to control them and I will start again. Jim

We have a 5 year old all natural bee hive in our backyard, but we don't tap into it. It's amazing really; it's only about 4 metres from our back door and it's been there for almost 6 years and none of us, not even our dog, has ever been stung...hence we've just left them alone.

Hi NM,
I believe that bees in old nests can become aggressive. It seems to be a learned behaviour.

How long do bees live?

Queens - 2-5years
Drones - 40-50 days
Workers - 1-4 months
