View Full Version : Daring raid by interstate marauders
zulu Delta 534

In the early hours of this morning a highly organised gang of 5 executed a daring raid over the border, endangering interstate trade harmony and making off with irreplaceable treasures.
The gang consisted of two pensioners, obviously recruited as a diversionary tactic to lull the victims into a false sense of security, the gang's leader and her spouse who managed to load a valuable S3 short based Land Rover onto the trailer that they had innocently brought along, and a fireman who was included for his uncanny knack of "smelling military vehicles from 5 kilometers range" as well as in case aa fire broke out.
The planning had been going on for a while, inside informers told authorities, as the gang were equipped with two trailers to carry the booty home in.
They were last seen heading in a northerly direction towards Buccan travelling in a blue D2 and a red 130 defender.
Witnesses to the foray were unable to give an accurate description of the gang members, but described one member as 'a female person with a grin from ear to ear' and this person was overheard to have been mumbling things like "its only got 58000k's on the clock", Its been in a garage all of its life" and "I am only the third owner".
It is believed that the owners handbook and other paperwork disappeared with the vehicle.
The previous owners refused to comment and were noted to be shaking their heads as they headed off to the bank this morning.
Authorities have released the following 'identikit' likenesses of the aftermath of the scene and of some of the items that were taken.

Gee, that sounds like an accurate account of the event. excellent news. Mrs HH will have to get a computer broadband outlet in the shed so both tasks (working on the SWB and ......................... well, you know) can be performed at the same time :D

Who's got the 58000 miles on the clock?Seems to be in sahara desert camouflage colour. But I would think the odometer on that would be 58K Klms rather than miles.
Still it's no gun buggy!
If I see any thieves fitting the description I'll let border control know.

P.S. What a shame I just received a ute cab from Coffs Harbour that would match that 88" quite well.

I need a Series III to add to my collection, then all I need is a Series II and I have them all :D
Think I might pinch dads instead, not sure I'd be able to pull off such a daring raid with a certain Ho Har keeping watch

I didnt note the brand but they are the same all round and as Mrs Ho Har said, stuffed. The sidewalls are cracked, we don't know how long they have been sitting around doing nothing but I don't think they would be too safe at highway speeds, even S3 highway speeds. Definitely not non directional bar treads if that is what you were thinking, more like a mud or snow tread.
I have put a few other shots of the beast concerned on the S3 thread that may clarify things a bit.
Regards
Glen
P.S. She'll learn about these strange 'series questions' soon enough now she has one!
