Hi Everyone

After some help.

Have a 2007 TDV6 HSE with 60,000 kms on the clock with Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres. For the last 20,000 kms have experienced vibrations through the body of the car and the steering wheel.

Landrover initially blamed the tyres however after various tests they replaced the front lower control arm bushes ball joints, steering shafts and tie rod ends. They also replaced the fuel injector pump as it was found to be vibrating.

Got the car back and whilst body vibration was gone some vibration still in steering wheel especially at over 100 km/h.

Test drove both LC 200 and MB GL320 and both of those vehicles (with highway tyres) didn't vibrate.

Any Ideas - Could the residual vibration be the off road tyres?

Would be sad to see Disco go as I like everything about it but vibrations make me want to hate the car.

Any Help appreciated.

I am in the same situation with same tyres, I was putting it down to the tyres as when it started I got them balanced and it stopped for a while, but looking at the tyres one had started desintigrating, I swapped the back to the front and used the spare for the dodgy tyre.

Again stopped the wheel shuddering I suppose is the best term to use for a while 500k ish now back again.

Might need to get landrover to look at it if you are experiencing more problems, after I fit the new tyres anyway.

Was there a wheel swap done to eliminate the tyres as being the cause?

Are any of you guys running bullbars on the front? i put one on and the vibraton started. I had also done a rotation. Wonder if that's the cause. getting the shims put in to fix up the clunking, at low speed, of the sway bar bushings.

Also found a broken body mount in the front.

I'll let you all know if i can solve it. The shake is intermittent and mostly happens on speeds above 100 Kph. So it should not be balance. I also have big lights mounted on the front bull bar and that's where I can see the shake start.

Could still be balance issue (drive shafts, wheels) at 100kph, it may be vibrating at a lower speed as well but you may not notice it then. Check the diff to see if it has a leak where the shaft enters the housing.

Yes that was one reason, the other being the rear has more tread

LR agree there is still a problem. They will work to make the car like a new one.

Thinking of trading D3 in for Range Rover Vogue TDV8

What do people think?
