Hi All
I have been searching the Internet for up to date information on how much water is likely to get to Lake Eyre this year will it be worth going out there to see or should i wait for another year. It would be great to see and it is on the top of my to do list. I hope that someone here can help.
Regards
Doug

Lake Eyre only ever floods occasionally.

If you can, this would be the time to see it. I wish i could go, but the kids wouldn't appreciate it yet. I would like them to see it dry, and then take them back some day to see it in flood.:D

The bird life is supposed to be incredible, as is the fishing. Evidently, some people even tow their boats out there....:o

Hi Doug,
myself and a couple of mates were going to go to Lake Eyre in the last week of April, but, the reports were that you could only just see water from Halligans Bay and there was a foot or two at Belt bay and that's it.

The Lake Eyre Yacht Club was going to run a reggata in May but that's been postponed till June /July.:(

Lake Eyre YC - Current Lake Status (http://www.lakeeyreyc.com/Status/latest.html#bottom)

I was in Birdsville in 2004 (Stuck there for 6 days due to rain) and it seems that the lake filled up more then?? There seems to have been a bit of hype over this event, though I'm still watching to see if it's worth a mad dash in July??:)

Regards, George.
