The suggestion has been floated that the expo be abandoned as a stand-alone show and run as a part of another show and shine day, the All British Day. As the name suggests, this is for all british cars, not just land rovers, and naturally, there wouldn't be as many land rovers to see, possibly no 4wd based exhibitors or land rover exhibitors there, and it would be a purely static display.
the plan for the Expo this year is to have a bigger venue, with limited on-site camping, a demonstration track, recovery displays, maybe an RFS display, Land Rover parts and accessory suppliers, service centres, camping supplies, and many more along with Land Rover itself. However, with all this added value, there is a bigger committment, both on a personal level, and financially for the clubs involved.
so, the questions have to be asked;-

I have been to two of these expos, and they give me a rare opportunity look at other people's Landrovers and talk to them, compare notes.
To go to the Expo involves a round trip of over 700km, over ten hours driving, probably twelve if I take the 2a, at least one night's accommodation, probably two. That I have been prepared to do this indicates that I do value the previous Expos.
With the Landrover component diluted, as for example, the All British Day, it is unlikely I would go.

The suggestion has been floated that the expo be abandoned as a stand-alone show and run as a part of another show and shine day, ....This is a question that should appropriately be asked of the Members of the LROC Sydney Branch and if they are involved the Range Rover Club of NSW, not a question to be in the general areas of the AULRO.
I have strong opinions about the running of events, however to be clear on the issue: I love the idea of a single marque (Land Rover) exposition that offers members and friends of the LROC Sydney Branch the opportunity to show off their vehicles in the best light including some activities.
It would be great to also have new Land Rovers and their sisters (Range Rover and Freelanders) on display alongside accessory and associated equipment products for the Land Rover marques.
The event must be interesting to the whole family not just the vehicle enthusiasts.Any event, be it singular or run in conjunction (but preferably seperate) to another event has my tick of approval.

Maybe but for the event to have any chance of being successful it has to attract more than just club members. After all if I hadn't happened along to one of the "show & shine" days out at Luddenham there would be one less financial member of the club.
I would guess Barney is trying to gauge the feelings of the wider audience - a bit of market research. This will probably be used to inform the club committee.
