Hello All,

I have just started doing a search around for a new project/Idea I have.

I am intersted in fitting or getting fitted a LPG ECU, that uses an O2 sensor, RPM and Throttle Position sensor, to enrich or lean by use of a stepper.

I am in the early days of researching this and was wondering if anyone has experiences with this sort of system they would like to share.

Is it worth doing? And, secondly, where is a supplier or fitter they may recommend in the Vic, Melb SE burbs area, how much am I looking at?

I have been looking at the AEB variants. It looks like the AEB Leonardo gets rebadged to a few differnet products or markets. So it can be called the AEB 295 here is Aus, or it can be the OMVL Millenium or AEB 175.

SprintGas appear to be a distributor, but mainly to trade. When I enquired, I was told they retail price they could give me was around $600 . However, they also told me that I could get it supplied and fitted for somewhat less then that at an installer.

Just looking on some UK web sites it appears pretty popular by Land Rover owners, and I could get one for about $300AUD before shipping.

I have a Disco 94 3.9 I want to try this on first, and a RRC 89 3.5 that might get it too, if it works out worthwhile. Both cars are stock EFI running Impco Convertors/mixers.

Any input on this idea would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

John.

Hi there,

My car uses a parasite computer (or emulator, l think) and has an 02 sensor fitted (94 RRC) and a stepper on the gas line between converter and mixer. It has inputs for engine RPM and 02 sensor, and probably others. Some trouble turning off the injectors when on gas, but was able to get around that. Get around 5.5km's per litre on gas.

Probably not much use to you, just thought l would add it though.

Thanks for the reply Lachlan.

The Ks per Litre is helpful, your figures probably much the same as what I am getting already, atleast on the Disco. The rangie seems to very thirsty at the moment.

I am still pretty keen to hear any stories or info in regards to using a closed loop gas system.

Rdgs,

John.
