Need a place in Newcastle so looked the Gumtree site and found a gem of a place - on Hunter Street - fully furnished, security etc for $120/wk. :) bargain! Should have realised some thing doggy then. Anyway, email the advertiser - get an email that he is doing charity work etc and being posted in China. Wife has gone back to the States! So flat is empty

I should have picked it was doggy when I was emailing to George Decocq and Mary Decocq!! Filled up an application form etc - all with doggy details - by this time I was thinking S.H.! :bat: Then request for paying of a month's bond and rent through Western Union. They said it was safe - I said no - asked for bank account details and I got it. Must be some poor person that they have scammed before.

Reported their ad. to Gumtree :wasntme:now it is off. But it was a a really great little place for $120!

nearly happened to me on gumtree also, all seemed very legit up until the very end....I lead him on for a while trying to get his bank details so I could have him tracked. eventually he went quiet!

To which I sent him and email and told him how disappointed I was that a scammer would give up soo soon
