G'day All, I think he means electronic ignition system to replace points etc, there are some good ones for sale in the UK (and some crap as well), the one available here in Oz is good value so I'm led to believe cheers Dennis:angel:

I'd be interested in a couple. Should make the current 2a restoration a bit more reliable.

I will be in for two...as well. Are these the complete distributor, remove your old one and drop in the new electronic one.

I have a kit here that uses the points replacement thingy and an external module. Have seen on a Brit site a dizzy made for a 2.25 that was complete replacement for the points one.

Unless I missed something...that makes 13 so far....tell ya friends, order up

$25 for electronic points !

I paid $200,(RRC) for mine from the US the Oz ones where more expensive.

I have a set now but sounds like a bargain to me. They will probably fit other dizzys too so might be worth asking others, basically anything with a carb.

Are they the magnetic or optical type?

I'm interested in details if they have a replacement set for a 6 cylinder, especially for that kind of price. what brand are they?

At the moment I have a petronix points replacement in my original dizzy that is working well, but i'm not so sure about the health of the rest of the dizzy.

Hillbillywheelchair,

Do you have any more detail on these units? A picture of the unit or the packaging?

I'm interested but need to know exactly what it is you are peddling.

Thanks.

Did you ever get any further in investigating this? As you say, it's hard to be sure about the quality but at the right price it would be worth a bit of a gamble.

I was quoted $242 today for a Pertronix kit to fit in an exisitng 25D distributor.

I've also heard of the distributor including electronic ignition being sold on ebay for GBP58 plus shipping.

The Yuyao Zhunshi Electric electronic modules are available in Australia for $110 plus postage from Tony at Auto Electrics On Wheels 07 5546 9065.

He reckons they're pretty good. I'm inclined to get some from him unless someone can come up with a better deal.

I may be mis-reading the intent, but it sounds as if the electronic ignition comes complete with 25D4 distributor.

Anyway, I'm definitely in for one.

How do we pay?
