Hey Guys,

New addition to the family,;)
1962 Landie, in good running order.
Sat in a shed for many years west of Port Macquarie.
Father in Law bought it up to the Coast last weekend around the floods.
He expects to have it in top order for a Kimberley Trip & beyond.
Has rebuilt three other Landies over his time and still many parts under the house. (Retired Diesel Fitter which helps)>
At 74 he just rebuilt his motorbike & rode it to Darwin and back, so this will be another project with a little nostalgia.

Will keep you posted on how the project goes.

Very Nice.
We nearly bought a series 2 before Cheeky adpoted us
In a lot of ways they are "Real Land Rovers"
That will stir up the natives
Good luck with it

Yep they are the real Land Rovers. But a lucky few of us drive real RANGE ROVERS.:D

We have made plenty of progress with the project and vehicle now registered.
But as always we have come up with an major issue with the engine.
Age and lack of maint by previous owners have resulted in the engine now in bad shape.
Two cylinders let go & stuffed the Pistons/Cylinder Head & Bore..
The head is no good and the bore seems not in very good shape either.
We have a spare head under the house and maybe be able to bore out cylinders to 40 thou.
As an alternative if any body is aware of a complete and running 2a engine around the traps.
This maybe a better option right now for the father in law, as he is on the pension.
We can rebuild the engine, but cost of parts are expensive.
Will keep you posted on our progress and if you hear of any engines or cheap parts, please drop me a pm.

We have had a win with an engine:) We went to see a guy in Murwillumbah and pulled out an engine from another series 2 being wrecked. Put into a couple of rails clamped it down and ran it. All good !!
Plus cut out a gal fuel tank for 2nd tank & also a new clutch plate.
Engines being cleaned down and painted along with the engine bay area.
Just a bit of green paint & a brush:D
Hope to have it going in a week or so.;)
Seats have been recovered and vehicle now registered.
