Many years ago I downloaded a great check list for doing an inspection on the road worthyness of 2nd hand landys, have lost it. Is there one available on this site?
Also after a list of year models & when they changed eg series 2 to series 3 and the different variations available in each year model.

I don't remember such a list here, but it does sound like a good idea. Having a single one to cover all Landrovers might make it a bit big, although I suppose it all depends on how detailed it gets.
Similarly with different models. While for Series Landrovers, it is easy to say, for example that Series 1 started in 1948, Series 2 in 1958, Series 3 in 1973 replaced by 110 in 1983. But it is not that simple - for example, there are more differences between different models of Series 1 than there are between the last Series 1 and the first Series 2, just as a sample, two changes in wheelbase and three different engines, quite apart from the diesel. And similar problems occur in listing the variations - in 1965 Rover published a poster showing the 38 different body styles supplied ex factory - multiply this by engine types and other options ...... . Not all of these were available in Australia, but then we had some unique ones of our own, and this was only a 1965 snapshot anyway.

Unfortunately the link to the family tree at the end is now a dead link (still looking though)

Nice - but incomplete - three types of Series Landrover in 1965, compared to the 38 advertised then. And while it shows Belgian and Spanish special lines, does not show German (Tempo) and Australian special lines.
Demonstrates what I said - depends on how much detail you want to go into!
