How to secure the Defendoor so it doesn't get easily lifted, or lost?
I thought about this for a little while and came up with the following tether,
Use some electrical wire, with soldered on eye terminals. Pop rivet a terminal to the Defendoor and screw the other one through the fuel filler screw.
Here's a short photo tutorial.

Good solution Michael - thanks for sharing.
I've only been fitting mine when I go bush, that might change now.

I there room to rivet to the lip, rather than the exposed face?

No, plus the lip seals the unit into place, so "cracking" the seal may make it fall off, as well as rub metal to metal.
