Why is it when these things are right you would not drive enything else. I even spent 2 hours cleaning it today. Its got to be the only car I sit in the drive way and look at thinking how I can spend my wifes hard erned cash attempting to improve only to find it was better without the modifications. Does anybody think that with the modern 4x4 vehicles such as Puma and D3 mods from componys such as ARB are only worth considering for things such as winches, bars, ect.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your truck, Allan - it's a great feeling having a Fender, isn't it?

These trucks are pretty capable stock though as you've found - they don't really need a lot of extras. I guess you will find out over time what you want to do in the vehicle, and then add items that will help or aid your enjoyment and improve functionality.

Spending the wife's hard earned on your Fender? GOLD!. :D

Hi Allan, I know how you feel. This is my first Deefer after a couple of Series 2 Discos (V8 & TD5) and my first 4WD a SWB TD Paj.

I have gone down the modification path a fair bit on my Puma. I spent many weeks researching and narrowed down a wish list from "everything" to "what I really need for my purposes."

This is what I have done:

Window tinting all round
Landrover Genuine Rubber Floor Mats
Land Rover Genuine Checkerplate (silver to sills & rear, black on wing tips)
Land Rover Genuine rear mounted spotlight
Landrover Genuine Towbar
Rear Recovery Hitch
Front Recovery Points x 2 (replaced factory tie down points)
Icom IC-440 5W UHF
Swing away wheel carrier
BFG Mud Terrains KM2 x 5
Autron Cruise Control (highly recommend)
Safari Snorkel
Piranha Dual Battery system with DBM4 monitor
300W Pure Sinewave Inverter mounted in rear passenger side
2 x Hella (Merrit) plugs in the rear (fridge/light)
Reversing sensors which give a bigger & better rear vision mirror
On board Hot Water Shower
Diff Breathers
Air Compressor mounted under rear passenger seat
4.4L Air Tank mounted underneath

On order:
45L Aux Tank (due in mid May!)

Future Modifications:
Bull Bar - currently nothing I can find suitable
Spotlights - read as no Bullbar!

I would be interested to know what you have done so far or what plans you have for spending your wife's hard earned!:)

Cheers,

Nigel

Nigel - did you win the lottery or something!!! Nice list of add-ons. Am very jealous :p

I have done quite a bit to my SVX. The list is as follows:

2 inch lift kit (ARB) - since removed due to noise
Castor correction bushes - since removed
OME shox all around
OME steering damper
OME compressor
OME air locker rear
Mud terrain tyres
Winch and winch bar
Tracklander roof rack
Halogen reversing lights
Roof rack ladder
CB radio
Engel fridge
IPF spotlights
Dash mat
Silver chequer plate to guards, sills and rear quarter
Snorkel (ARB)
Donaldson filter
Dual batteries
Tow bar with ARB snatch block
Full recovery kit
2 power outlets in rear for fridge etc
Other than an upgrade in tyre size on a second set of rims, I do not think I need much else on it.

My wife's hard earned has certainly been put to use. She spends her days as a manager in a loony bin so needs to escape from people when she is on holidays!

I've been really hankering lately for a totally stock 110 truck cab,no mods at all, just stock, trouble is I would cry like a baby if I had to sell my old girl to buy one,far to many memory's. Pat

Since Nigel and Allan are showing off I may as well jump in as well with my mods.

ARB towbar
Little round blind spot mirrors on side mirrors
Taken rear seats out

The end

For now that is. If my numbers pop up, or if work returns to anything like last year I have a wish list I can't jump over.

Hi Kenleyfred,

Would like to see your wishlist too.:) From memory you also have an SVX?
By the way, what bit of gear do I require to remove the rear seats? How long did it take to remove them? Have you ever put them back in temporarily? I'm thinking I'll have them out most of the time but will have occassions to put them back in.

Nice - something useful, too - you'll be unstoppable now, Kevin. But using the Missus' bonus??? You still got your MaxiDrive attached??

PS - Kevin - I'm Bored. :D

I removed the rear seats first day I got mine. Easy job just covered holes to underside with bungs. It leaves a couple of holes in the carpet but at least Ive got room for fridge etc when camping. Thought about selling seats but dont know if its legal without them My wifes bonus went on rear ladder.
