That's a great lap, but why does he back off at the end? It almost looks like a demonstration lap with a professional driver against the amateurs.

now that is the way racing should be, busy, close and clean!

Thats easy to explain, he lives in Melbourne and travels the Western link during peak hour traffic for practice.

Thats a crazy lap!

Very well put together from start to finish, great point of view as to how close they all get! and the amount of people he took under brakeing! :o 3 on skyline ...

Legend! I am honored to share his last name!

That was absolutely great. Watched it a few times ... love the sound of that engine, purrs like a kitten. Thanks. :) I remember quite a number of years ago driving a Lotus in Germany on the autobahn. It was such a buzz. (Though no comparison to that clip I can assure you ... wish I could drive like that!):D

Holy crap that wasa string of very very ballsy moves that he got away with.... or it was a ubber crap field! He was very very clean in that traffic, but after such a good run up and across the mountain he did come onto Conrod like an amature! Still, waaaaaaay better than what I could have done. :D

The Lotus did it against identical Loti.....the Ho'e did it against dato 1600s :p

and cortina's, escorts, chargers, a VERY hot customline, as well as a few other beasts that would put a horn on a jellyfish

the loti may be a one make race, but the historic tourers that the HO was racing in are a different kettle of fish.....

remember, Colin Chapman developed the lotus brand as being one that handled well and was lightweight, with the thinking of "so a part broke..... obviously something else is too heavy, time to lose some more weight" so at the end of the day you end up with a go-kart with a bodyshell on it, add a little power and it can make bad drivers appear good, and ordinary drivers appear like superstars

a historic tourer spec GTHO will allways be a overweight, underbraked, cart sprung behemouth that will seperate the men from the boys

Hey Sprint, certainly not taking away anything from each but surely on a track such as Bathurst with its long straights the HO has a slight advantage, even with its massive weight....
