Well there are a lot of P38A coming on to the market at the $10k mark.
Is it worth getting one for a bit of comfort while off roading?
Are they really as bad as people make out?
I like the abilities

Not sure about the method of attaching the snatch strap.

Nah, that was a tow more than a recovery. At least he didn't use a shackle - my 4wd instructors frown upon them. I'm sure that factory recovery point was fine.
I'm more concerned about the bloke wearing those awful red shoes... did he borrow them from a Volvo XC90 or VW Taureg driver? :o

Absolutely. Did you really think you would get a negative response posting such a question in a Range Rover forum? :p
Most of the people who have negative things to say about P38A's have never owned one. Those of us who do own them and say negative things from time to time are mostly venting. Not so different from folks over at the Defender, Disco and Freelander forums I bet.
After owning 4 Rangies, my P38A continues to impress me (and drivers of "mainstream" 4WD's) with it's off-road capabilites and on-road manners.
