I have used a 305 for a couple of years got out of Ebay when dollar was high
use it for running pacemaking etc really good I found when i ran steadily to the pace my 10km time improved by 3 minutes as i was more consistent in the 10km hill /sand run i do
maps when you have been to google earth well and you can see tracks heartrate elevation
etc etc, can be off by about 50meters sometimes in the forest but very good
seems waterproof when running in the rain battery lasts about 10 to 12 hours

I run a garmin Edge 305 on my mountain and road bikes. Great for tracking where you've been, and how hard you were pushing. Done over 5,000K to date. It used to freeze if it is charging and laptop goes to sleep, but the latest firmware appears to have solved that.

Cheers,
AP
