Why doesn't anyone fit drain holes and plugs into fuel tanks anymore?

Both my Landys have none and the GU Patrol I had, had none in either of the two tanks. An earlier cruiser was original fitment. Aftermarket tanks can have them fitted, and earlier Patrols had them.

Does anyone fit them to Landrover plastic tanks as an accessory ??

I'm only asking after we tried draining 60 litres of watery fuel 40 km from where you purchased it on the Nullabor. Its too heavy and difficult to remove the tank in the bush. We had a jerrycan of clean fuel to replace it with.

IIRC my 10/87 Range Rover has a fuel tank drain plug.

All of my Landies have drain plugs. The original plastic tank from the Td5 has been replaced with aftermarket complete with drain.
