Hi, I was just wondering, will the Drivers side fuel tank standard on a Series 2a fit up under the passenger side or are there slight diffenences? I would have to make a filler point adaption and maybe drill a hole or two but is the cavity the same size?

Thanks,
-Bryan.

The tanks are the same, but......

You may find that the front outrigger needs to be moved (backwards I think), so that the tank saddle can bolt up ok. (already done as standard on army units)

Other than that, it should fit just fine.

yea mate they are identical, you might have to switch the pickup point around on the top of the tank to face the other way. Very easy just unscrew the two screws, lift u slightly, rotate and screw back in. Filler/breather pipes should line up too if yours was originally fitted with two tanks and has the passenger side filler. I know because I have done it with my ex-army IIA, had a dodgy tank so replaced it with a spare driver's side on I had.

Welcome to the forum mate and good luck with it - I know the tanks can be a pain, especially trying to get the rear mounting bolts on/off

Post up some piccys of your rig :p

As has been stated above, the tanks are identical, and no mods to the actual tank need to be made to swap sides.

There are two types of tank, the 10 gallon tank, which is almost square, and the 16 gallon, which has a leg at the front. Most IIA chassis should have the correct outriggers in place to fit a 10gal tank each side. For a 16 gal you need to chop the front outrugger off, and weld it to the bulkhead outrigger.

That makes sense.
