Just ordered all new lights and wiring harness and when I get a chance over the next few weeks I will get stuck into bringing it back to it's former glory. We are going camping this weekend to a mates farm and his neighbour has about 30 (I kid you not) Series vehicles in the front yard of his farm in different states of decay, so I am going to pay him a visit and see what I can scrounge up. BTW, can anyone tell me what sort of dash control the wipers had on the 2a???
Thanks Ian

All the ones I have had anything to do with have had a 2 position toggle switch (off/on) that looks the same as the 3 position (off/park/on) headlight switch that it is mounted beside, usually a metal switch

2a up to suffix C had the wiper switch mounted on the wiper motor, separate motor and switch for each wiper. From Suffix D the wiper switch was a black plastic toggle switch mounted in the upper centre of the instrument panel, immediately to the left of the similar light switch.

G'day All, As JD stated for the wiper switch, but your pic is so blurred it's near impossible to see whats there, from the front the wiper arms are in the correct position i.e. in the windscreen frame for single wiper motors with the switch as a integral part of the motor cheers Dennis:angel:

What seats did you use in the front?

From the front of the dash it looks almost identical to the headlight switch, but behind it's a much smaller switch with four terminals arranged in a rectangle. Not much chance of confusing the two.
In my 2A (which from the photos looks to be about the same age as yours - suffix G?) I modified a headlight switch to enable fitting of a 2 speed wiper motor from a Series 3.
Very nice truck! Actually looks better than mine!

Hi All
The wipers have a switch on a panel that has been mounted in front of the steering wheel (that's gunna get the flick) and the wiper motor is in the parcel area in front of the passenger. The seats are apparently out of a Cortina Mk3. I have started to repair some of the wiring so I can get it up the road to the auto elect who is a Rover man, I was going to replace the harness myself but at the moment I dont have the time. Question Prease! Does the gearbox have syncro's or is it as someone local told me a crash box?????
cheers Ian

Should have syncro on third and fourth only - non syncro first and second. ;)
If it is all syncro it will be a Series III box.

:unsure:Excuse my ignorance Shonky, but does that mean it grinds like all get out trying to get it into 1st, 2nd and reverse (as he does) but 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th are not too bad.
Cheers Ian

G'day All, When driving a Series Land Rover with syncro only on 3rd/4th gear, to stop all the crunching grinding trying to get it into gear, before attempting to select 1st this is what I do, I stop the G/box by selecting 4th gear, then out and into 2nd n up into 1st smooth as a babies bum, no noise etc etc cheers Dennis:angel:

I'll give it a go, I managed to repair a few more wiring problems yesterday with the washers, heater fan and found the wiper motor was Ted's brother (roo),and this morning the battery was flat as road kill:D.Got it on the charger now so I must have a drain somewhere. I'll have to get a battery tap for it until the new wiring harness turns up and then hopefully that should fix that problem. Does anyone know where I can source a wiper motor, 4wd.com?
Cheers Ian
