Govt $8000 Solar rebate runs out midnight Tues 9th

Anyone thinking of getting a solar power system for their home had better get cracking. With only 1 days notice (this morning at 9:00AM) Peter Garret has announced that the $8000 Govt rebate is ceasing at midnight tonight. Thanks for the warning Pete mate :mad:

I had decided to get a 2.4Kw System and had to run around like an idiot getting all the paperwork sorted to be submitted before tonight. I thought I had until 30th of June (well, I did have until this morning.....)

Oh well - hopefully long term it will be worth it to generate my own power.

We rang rainbow power co today, after reading the above post, and they told us it was already too late. There paperwork has to be in Canberra by midnight tonight and already has been posted by them. Apparently there will be a new Solar Power sceme from 1 July so they say. Not happy about such short notice.

My application is somewhere in the line.
The house has been inspected for suitability etc but approval has not been received yet.
I guess it depends on which pile/ on whose desk it sits as to whether I get the rebate.

Just a thought.. If I was to install a coal-powered generator on my roof...does anyone know which form I need to complete to get a rebate??

surely that must be a goer???
