Matt you really are a talented bloke behind that lense.....

But I think you already know that....

I also love the passion you seem to have with your camera as it seems to come out at every given opportunity.

I wish my pics were as good as yours......the first one is a stunner sorry you missed the comp:(

No HDR's this time.

All played with in Lightroom, I always do a little bit here and there with the colours and cropping, but 99% of the time I just use lightroom.

No filters, I have some, but never use them anymore!

i used my speed light for the first time the other day :)

still need to play around with it though....as I was using it due to the poor light under the car but even with the speed light on I couldn't get it over a speed to hand hold not with out playing with the ISO...

So i'm guessing I have to go manual on it all as I had it on aperture priority. or should I have just bumped up the EV on the flash

Great pics!

Were you on one of the large private properties near Gough's Bay at any stage? I think I recognise some of it!

Nope, don't believe so.

This is where we were camping, http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=-37.123779,145.944916%20(Delatite%20Plantation%20Rd %20Lake%20Eildon%20Victoria%203713) (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=-37.123779,145.944916%20%28Delatite%20Plantation%20 Rd%20Lake%20Eildon%20Victoria%203713%29) and roughly driving, obviously no water there anymore!

did u have the flash on the camera or off ?

if off camera, i normally just go into the commander mode and turn the TTL up or down!

This is a close up of the green stuff, no idea what to call it, not grass though.

You can actually see how ultra-green it really is ! Amazing stuff, I just loved the colour!

Looks like a type of fern. It would be nice tosee if the color tone is outside of the printer capabilities.

Very nice

wow A0 what pixels do you have on your camera don't you have a D80? and what print res did he use...I didn't think you could get A0 out of 10.2mp

dmdigital

You can use Photoshop to do a pixel interpolation and thus increase the printed size of the image. Lou, you are correct in that a 10mpx image won't print A0 by default at 300dpi, but there are certainly ways around it and you can easily go above A0 even if you desire.

... now I've given you even more ideas for the fantastic shots you take;)

yes! you should do a tutorial on it Derek would be even better:D. Actually maybe I should make a tutorial sticky for the ones you have already done and just merge all the posts.

Hi Matt,

What part of Lake Eildon? Looks more like the Bonnie Doon end, where it could now be called "the valley formerly known as Lake Eildon" :)

Correct, Nikon D80, I didn't think I could print A0, but the guy in the shop said it would be fine and he was correct. If you keep the ISO to about 100 it is fine.

I think the problem that I know I suffer from and I know a lot of other photographers that use digital cameras is zooming in on a picture at 100%... people don't normally do that with print's!!! Try printing a good picture at A0 (Costs about $90) and hang it on the wall, and stand where you would normally, guarantee that you want tell the difference!

I know I will be printing more at A0.

Matt.
