Hi - first posting here. I'm looking at purchasing a 130 ute. There seem to be a few around and I have looked through all the relevant stuff posted here.
I've noticed a green 02 TD5 130 advertised in Melbourne (dealer) - lots of extras - does anyone know anything about this vehicle? Is it good value?
I'm tossing up whether to go and have a look (I'm near Sydney). Any info would be appreciated, especially if it saves me a trip.

A price might help to decide whether or not it's good value, also some more info about the particular vehicle and it's extras.

Thanks so far. They want $25 k for it. Its done 160k km, supposedly one owner with full service history, bull bar, winch, canopy, racks, air compressor - is listed on Car Sales, Drive etc.
A new one is tempting (I gather they will be available soon) but may be out of my price range.

Welcome
I cannot tell whether its good value or not. I think it would have to be exceptional for that price but I may be wrong. I have a 130 the same year and find it very good. Probs so far and it also has 160K is only a new computer and injector loom. Was replaced when oil was first noticed on computer board.
Does anyone know how much the new 130 single cabs are going to be? I hope some government departments buy some because I would like to update in a couple of years time.
Cheers Scott

Murray, the 130 DC was available from late 07/early 08 when the Puma's first went on sale here. The new models will include 130 single cab tray & 130 DC HCPU (which were available in the past in 300Tdi & Td5 guise) as well as 110 single cab tray, 110 HCPU & 110 DC.

Yeah, I thought the DC must have been around for a while, just haven't seen many on the road.

Trust me, they're around ... I've got a 2-week old 130 Puma puppy sitting quietly in the garage, awaiting the camper unit that will go on its back
Btw, when I ordered/bought it the dealer mentioned that LRA had 11 units in stock at that time (now about 4 weeks ago).

I'm pretty sure they are only available in cab/chassis so pretty much all of them will be tray backs. :)

In terms of used ones: I was also looking at the green one, but have just bought a 110 so not interested anymore...I liked that that had a canopy and was the HC tray. That would be far more useful in my line of work I think. Even with all the extras, it would be only be worth that much if it had done half the number of kms.
The bloke next door to us sold his '04 130 for $25k, it had done about 80,000kms and was in perfect condition. He looks after his machines well and this was no different. That is the kind of car you should find.

Hi all, first post for me. I have looked at the green 130, it is pretty tidy, and has an excellent service history from LR dealer Lance Dixon, every 10,000 k's. I think it's a one owner. The first thing I'd be doing is putting it on a diet. The roof rack must weigh 300 kilos, and it has a winch with 2 heavy duty batteries mounted in the bull bar, a lot of weight over the front axle. I missed out out on a mint 130 HC pickup last year that had done 30,000 k's, it sold for $37000. I ended buying a new Puma 130. I think you could do better than the asking price of $25,000, it looks out of place in a yard full of Falcons!
