I have a 2006 plated TDV6 HSE that has a version 10 Whereis Navigation System. I wanted to upgrade and bought a Version 13 DVD. It will not work in my player! I was told that versions after 12 have a different format, but I am unable to source anything to re-format my OS or a replacement player.
I have been the circular route, Land RoverParts/LandRoverSales/Whereis/Landrover/Whereis.... Too hard basket every time.
Any ideas?

I had a Version 10 and upgraded to version 15, I removed the little upgrade file on the disk so I can still use "on the move" hack

Never had any problems otherwise

mines a 2005 HSE

Ian, as far as I'm aware, the V13 disk will not work UNLESS you purchased an LR one. If you bought direct from Whereis it won't work. At least that was the case when I bought V13.

V15 from either whereis or LR will work regardless.

G'day Ian,

I have a 2005 HSE with LR Satnav. Genuine Land Rover use a Denso system, so if you have a Denso update disk wether its branded LR or its just from Sensis it should work in your car.

My car came with version 10 installed. I refused to pay LR pricing ($1400) and got a Denso V13 from Sensis, worked well for our trip around Australia.

I have since upgraded to V15 from Sensis using the LR option as it was now cheeper than the Denso disk.

What is written on the origonal disk label from your car? this determines your upgrade path.

Hope this helps,

Ryall

You must have been luckier than me Ryall!

I was told by Sensis that their disk would not work and that I had to by the LR one (but it was $500, not $1400 (V12 LR disk was $1400)). I did know one other chap at the time who bought the Sensis disk anyway and it wouldn't work.

Thanks for the feedback folks, it's always good to get the Good Oil instead of the BS. It will be nice to get out of this ever decreasing circle of misinformation.

I have the Denso Version 10 Land Rover/WhereIs Navigation DVD as OEM in my D3 (plated 01/06)

I just tried the Denso WhereIs V14 again. ($395) Still no luck.
When I installed new DYD, only my "Home" map showed and all functions were slowed right down that were assosiated with maps. No other maps were available except State selection. I simply removed V10 & inserted V14, is there an installation preceedure?

This doesn't make sense, TDV6 had an 05 D3 with V10. The only diference I can see is he upgraded to V13 first. Would it be worth it to remove the player and get its part No?

You could try the dealer to see if the software is up to date.

Usually the disk does it's own installation procedure when installed.
