Guys
I'm planning a small trip in a few weeks and will be towing a newish trailer fitted with LED tailights. Realised I need to fit a Pulse Shunt device from Labtronx so the lights don't continually flash, but it appears Lee is on holiday until 13th July - too late for me. Is anyone aware of a LR dealer or other supplier that would have these on the shelf?
Are there any other options?
Cheers
Justin

The cheapest solution is to build your own.
I built this one..DISCO3.CO.UK Photo Gallery - LED Tamer (http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=1704)
Components from any electronics store (Jacar) were around $60 including 7 pin plug and socket, cable and an aluminium box to house it in.
Another supplier is www.linearelectronicdesign.com - Linear Electronic Design (http://www.linearelectronicdesign.com)

Highly recommended.
Great product & easily transfreable if required for multi trailers.

Thanks Guys
I contacted LED and David was very prompt and price was good and order placed on Thursday last week. It's been despatched already so I hope to receive it in the next day or 2. I went the portable option, so that I can transfer between trailers if required.
Lee from Labtronx did get back to me, but he's currently in the UK and not back until mid July, which was too late for me. Both products look good, but if you have the time and some soldering ability, you could follow the instructions posted to build your own. :)

Hi guys
Recently took delivery of a 2009 TDV6 and am trying to understand what happens when a trailer is connected. I have a camper with LEDs and I had modified the LEDs with shunts to work with my previous VW Touareg. I understand the pulse shunt bit and have seen circuits that isolate the indicator LEDs from the vehicle and they look simple enough to build.
What I'm trying to work out is, what does the D3 check to recognise that a trailer is connected, is it looking for a certain resistance at the brake light circuit, the parkers or the indicators?
Cheers

Both indicator circuits.

Thanks. That's what it looked like when I connected the trailer.
The Touareg checks all circuits, but the pulse width was shorter, so you didn't get the flash.

4X4 Equip have some. I believe MLR also. Or ask to borrow one from a forum member near you.

I need to buy a pulse shunt so I can tow a trailer with LED lights behind D3. I have a choice between LED adaptor module from Linear Electronic Design or Pulse Busta from LAB Electronics. Any thoughts on which product to buy?
