The blue leds are all illegal on the outside of any car in nsw except police and emergency services. It appears it is only enforced when hwp have ops against drag racers not at other times. I hate them too and the 100 watt fog lights that have become all the rage:mad:

And when you were young would have loved them:p

I was thinking about some of that bling stuff on my Rangie to show up the rice burners when I blow their doors off wile in low range:twisted::wacko:

Every one is different I guess. They don't really worry me at all. I quite like good customs in fact. So long as they are sensible with them around general public.

I don't like the horrible exhaust they use that sounds like a billy goat farting in a jam tin and drone wile they drive past.

I was once broken down along the Geelong Freeway in my old Jag 420G - all it was was a stuffed battery and I needed a jump start. Heaps of traffic, all coming home from a long weekend, but no-one stopped, except a couple of 'feral ute boys' with a Holden ute fitted with a bull bar that came of a Mack truck, and the usual collection of 'fertilise the bush, doze in a greenie' stickers, and gave me a jump start. A couple of cheerful, if a bit loud, young fellas. Their ute was pretty loud too! But I appreciated the help and have thought about different people a bit differently since, if you know what I mean.

Agree. If that's what they are into, good luck to them. They only come on at night going by the ad...no more distracting than those "spinners" they have on their wheels.

Those green ones would look good on my old series II white rims!!:Rolling::Rolling:

Ahh, the 420G, now there was a seriously nice car. What an absolute beauty. Didn't see so many here in Perth, more 420s S types and early XJs. A friend of mine had a white one in really good nick. Also I have to say from my limited exposure to feral uties, they seem like good people to me. I think a girl driving a ute is almost as sexy as a girl driving a Landy.

If it is that mu of a distraction to some of you, maybe you should consider that you should not be driving if you can not concentrate.:wasntme:
Generally as a rule coloured lights like this are not illegal unless used in driving lights etc I think you may be getting confused with flashing lights. Flashing blue, red or white lights are only to be used on emergency vehicles, green flashing lights on emergency clearing centre (not used much any more). Any flashing lights on anything but emergency vehicles must be covered when on road when not in use including amber lights. As clearance lights any colour is legal. Do you also want to see them banned on trucks, trailers, etc as well?
I can not see the issue with parking lights as they are just that parking lights to let other traffic know you are there and should only be on on their own. I had purple ones in my wifes Commodore wagon and I actually found the light less distracting than the white versions. If they are on in conjunction with low or high beam it is another issue. Though they are actually illegal, park lights must be white under ADR's and a vehicle can be defected for it. I think it is regarded as being at the lower end of the scale by most traffic and RTA.
Neon lights under cars while in motion are illegal, so maybe the wheel flashers are too, but one could always argue they are clearance lights which are not illegal. There are no clear ADR's or laws on this one as clearance lamps of any colour are legal.
As for the fog / driving lights, I personally have no issue with the standard 50W items, as they do not cause me any issue. However the clowns that modify them to 100-130W globes and then drive with them on deserve to be abused.
I actually have more issues with dipstick vehicle owners driving around with their high beam and spot lights on.

Love your work Stevo!
Had a Safari Suit or two when I was a little tacker as well.

Formed the Brisbane Safari Suit Society when at Uni too.
Still the card somewhere.
We'd all go out on the tiles wearing them. There was only 3 entry requirements, had to have a safari suit, had to have a hip flask and had to go out on your first night in suit....when the sun was up and still be going when it was coming back up:p

Still have a Blue one somewhere in the back of the trunk (where my Mrs would like it to stay). The fawn one has bitten the dust. RIP

I think we might have to start bringing them back as a fashion item.
Maybe a GCLRO or AULRO trip with compulsory Safari Suit!!!

I still love them.

Fashionable and practical, yet daggy with panache all in one!

Generally as a rule coloured lights like this are not illegal unless used in driving lights etc ...Maybe that is the case in WA, however it is very illegal to fit a blue light to a vehicle other than a Police, Ambulance or Fire Fighting or a number of specified vehicles.
