Hi There
Just got Quotes for my D3 Insurance, in Sydney I am being quoted everything from $1400 per year with $500 excess to $2100 PY rating 1. This seems like a lot, and some of the insurers apparently have a "High Risk" tag on the D3.
Any of you guys know why this might be, and what are you paying for your insurance?

It depends really on you and the location as well as the accessories, if you want to email me your P/Code and accessories etc along with your Date of Birth, I will run up an Allianz quote. We use them at work and they are pretty competitive, mine cost me just on $800 for good old Toowoomba
Cheers

I'm with Shannons for all my cars. Full cover for off road use, understand modifications and don't charge the earth for them, choice of repairer, good to claim from and within a few % of everybody else when I price checked them. I'm too old for bargain basement, minimal cover policies.
Cheers, Steve

Make sure the insuance covers off road not just fire trails.

Probably because spare parts are so expensive, eg windscreen (non-rain sensor) is around $1,400 fitted and I have claimed two! A new wheel rim, about the same! I shudder to think what a headlight assy might be. My insurance jumped $500 with AAMI when I upgraded from D2 to D3. I am now with Allianz, around $850, Upper North Shore, Sydney, market value.
