Use a layer mask or a path mask. I can dig up a better explanation if you need.

Here's a reasonable explanation and examples: Using the Channel Mixer to Selectively Grayscale a Color Photo in Photoshop (http://www.lumika.org/gear_photoshop_channel_mixer.htm)

Photoshop books are like that:p

The best are just a whole ream of examples to work though with step by step explanations.

Hey DB...I borrowed a book from the library on photoshop......

I didn't want to take it back. It was like the photoshop bible :D

Finding how to do it isn't that hard, understanding it and then remembering for the next time is a bit more challenging :D:D

I actually done it...by playing around doing it none of the ways derek suggested....So I dont know how I managed that.

However only time will tell as where I uploaded the pic too it looks blurry but I can only see a thumbnail ATM.....

I dont know why it would be blurry..its a jpeg like asked...it needs to be a minimum of 500kb and a maximum of 5mb and mine is 3.4mb and it opens up on my computer fine. But until I can get on a comp to see a large version I'm in limbo land

If you want to do a quick and dirty (and free) method, Picasa 3 lets you do a selective monotone pic. You just hold a circle over the area you want to keep as colour and adjust the radius & softness of the circle to fit.

When i did this one, i think i found a tutorial on the web... but basically i created a layer on black/white and just used the eraser to get rid of the colour. Let me see if i can find it.

I did this one a couple of years ago (with GIMP), from memory I created a B/W layer and then erased the bits I didn't want.
