Hi all, just had a 1995 defender 130 210000kms inspected today and i am after peoples opinions on the following leaks: T/case 'o'ring, vacc pump oil leak, oil cooler hoses, p/steer box, swivel hub seals, ejector hose?? coolant leak, rocker cover, breather hose. Should i be concerned or are they just typical
I can appreciate the age of the vehicle and the inspection was there to find any issues. The same leaks are also noted on prior history back in '07
Opinioins and feedback appreciated.
Thanks....hopeful defender owner:confused:

Sounds typical, except for the coolant leak. Where was the coolant leak from?

They could all be a little time consuming, but relatively cheap to fix, unless you're paying for labour. Except for the p/s leak, which may be a weep that isn't worth repairing, a loose hose or a major problem, but that's one I've never done, so I can't comment on it's complexity.
T/case 'o'ring, <$100 + 1 days labour (you'll need a hand)
vacc pump oil leak, replacement cost + 1 hour
oil cooler hoses, get EnZed or Pirtek to make some new ones about $150 + 1 hour (remove & refit)
p/steer box, not sure
swivel hub seals, <$50 + 3 hours - good chance to grease and adjust the bearings, or make the wheel bearings oil lubed.
ejector hose?? coolant leak, ???????
rocker cover, replacement gasket & 15min
breather hose. either the O-Ring, or tighten the clamps, or replace a split hose <$20 +20min
It's a very easy motor to work on.
