NO....

No mention of the site and made out to sound like they just happened upon you all whilst out and about (thought this was planned).
Really only focused on the fact that a base level d3 costs lots and has too many electrics.... but then the toyo200 is running on fairy dust isn't it to assist reliability.
Not the best article on l/r product but gave the d3 a fair report.

the dvd was ok but the voiceover man gives you the turds, still ash put on a good show and man he has some flex in that rangie. how is it running the new stt's.

cheers
yorkie :)

ps. anyone got contacts that can make up stickers for the top of windscreen with "www.aulro.com" as would give a little more exposure.

personally, i'm quite pleased they did'nt put the footage of me belting the tripe out of my inner guards to stop my tyres rubbing....that would have pleased the land rover haters to see that!

Still, had a great day out.

when are we going again?????

That was back when we all registered our rigs on the shed and had Landys in all the top 10 positions.
In retaliations the cruisers boys started voting full marks for any toyata and giving all Landys low marks. Mods accused us of doing it deliberatly and removed most of our scores.
Some of us also got temporary bans. One mod was extreemly out of order and very rude over it and never appologised so since then I have returned the view $%^# them.

That really gets me! i hate that it seems to be you either love of hate Land Rovers, owners of other makes are so ignorant to land rovers! Toyota owners being the worst generally! when i went on a trip with a bunch of guys i took my Toyota lover mate and was glad to see all land rovers survive and only a 100 series broke down... funny how he didnt mention that but if it was a Land Rover i wouldnt of heard the end of it!

He is always first to say how un reliable Land Rovers are... but he has never had anything to do with them! and i must say mine has served me fine for almost 3 years and has 325,000K on the clock.

And he always says "how many toyotas do you see on the side of the road?" fair enough they generally are more reliable in some cases but lack personality and are just as common as a white fridge! and to back his comment i always reply with "as many land rovers as i see on the side of the road" as i have not seen on since the day i got my P's.

*sigh* sure is good to vent, oh and just so you know i canceled my registration on that forum as soon as i read this!

We resently went out with the Woolgoolga offroad club that were hosting the 4wd action june long weekend meetup at coffs, suprisingly we didn't cop one bit of land rover payout;)
We had a great time!!
Just one or two harmless jokes which are fine in my opinion but i really do get over it on the forums:mad:
Some are worse than others, they were mainly nissans on the trip, still plenty of toymotors though.

That really is slack...

I find ,if a thread at the 4 WD Action site is not what the Mods want or is honest, but may not be politically correct to the mag or a sponsor ,then the thread is pulled and one mod is a complete ####head.
I have a few different brands of 4wd kicking about the place, even so I find myself kicking around the Auldro site as there is little commercialism and politics and just good 4bys nuts like my self.

That incident was a couple of years ago now. I was a regular reader of their mag before that.
Things probably have changed since then.
I don't mind the freindly brabd ribbing as log as it doesn't get out of hand.

No - things haven't changed that much George.

There's some great people on that forum, but unfortunately, a disproportionate amount of complete ******* as well, including one mod already referred to in this thread.
Unfortunately, the management of the mag seems to have deteriorated somewhat, to the point that the mag seems now to be aimed more at those I would class as the ******* in the 4WD community. There's definitely not a lot of technical credibility in their magazine articles any more.

And, I'm loathe to admit it now - I used to be a bit of a fan of Roothy in the DVD's - but not any more after some of his recent offerings.

I've just bought my copy of the mag. You must have really good eyesight or you have a different issue to me as I can hardly see my car in the pics :(.

If I squint & poke my tongue out to the left, I think I can make out my RR ;).

I'm a fan of Roothy, he got character!

The tech info may be difficult sometimes with the custom trucks as it is all supplied by the owner, and I'd bet that there are a lot of modified trucks ou there which have owners that don't really know what/how/why things have been done or the specifics or anything. I'm always fascinated by the custom jobbies where people have broken the ARB/TJM etc mold and gotten gritty fabricating their own bits to make it do what they want it to do.

I also don't support slagging off forums on other forums. Dirty washing should stay at home.

No, generally speaking. I've seen it a fair bit on here and other forums. The last time I recall it happening here was a few months ago when there was a barney between AULRO and I think it was some UK forum.

I stick to this forum, great site and plenty of info plus our club hasn it's own section too . From experience, 99.9% of all the LR nuts I've met have been great people as a whole, always helpful and not full of themselves. That doesn't go with other brands, big egos and too much bravado for my liking I have experienced it for myself sadly.

On forum trips, don't generally do there mixed forum trips or go wheeling with non-LR people, call me a snob but I just don't have time for dickheads in Jap 4WD's shouting out foul language that are full of grog and full of stupidity endangering themselves and myself with there behaviour (ran into such mob at the Glasshouse Mtns recently).

The shed I don't go into much, too fiddly to acess and always get lost in there. I have a couple of my Rangies (one now sold) in there but haven't checked for a while.

Still enjoy the mag and it's articles but how namy Nissans with 35's, 6 inch lift and all the bells and whistles can you take :mad: The budget buils they used to do seemed to be missing of recent :(

Right. Heres my 2.5c worth.

Just watched that DVD. It won't be loaded into the player again:mad: IMHO Ash did a fantastic job ignoring the LR rubbishing, so did the Jeep owner ignoring the jibes about Jeeps. That is the last time I buy a copy.

I am all for ANY make of vehiclejoining our trips and really enjoy trips with a mix of vehicle types, and to date haven't had any problems. I am really glad I didn't make a huge effort to enter that comp, Ash went well but hats of to him for his patience.
Dissappointed,

Thats all I have to say.
