After discussions with the wife, we are thinking of purchasing an older vehicle, D1 or equivilent just for club days.
Not wanting to spend heaps, but prefer one with decent running gear & tyres.
Do have a question in regards to club rego, what is involved with this?
As we would only use vehicle on club runs in a year, would this option be worth considering?
As rego is about to go up again, we would have to look at the option,
We register at the moment 27 items per year .
If you see something around the traps that is worth a look, pls drop me a pm.

Will keep a look out.

Club rego is for vehicle 30yo or more which will let you grab a '79 rangy or series 3

Further info on the rego here (http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/Home/Registration/Motor_vehicles/Street_rods_and_vintage_cars/)... works out about $160 a year for rego/ctp plus any insurance you want to put on it also at a reduced rate.

Wonder if it comes with those BWA wheels or those standard S1 Disco rims in the bottom photo ? Worth a question.

Gidday Pete !!

I would think it would be the steel rims and would rather them over the BWAs.

Looks okay in the pics, get it for $2.5K or therabouts it's a cheap off-roader (and economical). I'm not a diesel fan myself but you have had a tdi in the past judging by your sig. Kms seem reasnoble for the price too.

My Disco that I bought is the same year just it's a V8 and auto (and not running atm, looking into that this weekend).

I love the gearing in low range in the old Rangie's.
THe way the gear train makes that chatter, chatter, chatter, when you put the clutch in is priceless.

If I had the room at home I tell ya!
