Well the tdv6 has now ran up 48000 km's. Rang Trinity Land Rover in Cairns to book it in for its 48000 Km service & was quoted well over $800.00 to complete this service. Is this a typical price for this service? & what am I going to get for my hard earned $800.00+ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2014/05/121.jpg.

Poor sod,
shame you aren't on corporate with "Free" servicing whilst under warranty :D

I checked the "standard servicing" costs before purchase,
something like a= $520 & b=$780 springs to mind, check your service books for what is supposed to be done at each.

VERY LITTLE !

They stiffed me 45% increase in oil price on Wednesday ....... then had
the gall to phone me on Friday to see if everything was to my
satisfaction ............ I let her have it ....... to hell with shooting
the messenger , I'm pi$$ed with garages and their blood y warranty
ripoffs ....... This 6 monthly make-it-up-conditions is crap and should
be illegal ........ OTR prices now, and EU service schedules next ! ! !
Honda are even worse with their 3 monthly oil change touting routines

Wow, that's expensive. Does performing your own service or going to an indy invalidate your warranty in Aus?

I have Land Rover's Service check-list for each service interval. Having had your experience, had my 48k service carried our from the checklist specs at a L.R specialist (not dealer) for a touch over $400.00. Worth noting that there were no extras like wheel alignments or attention to brakes, nor a hire/loan car for the day! Instrument panel service alert was reset and L/R service record stamped & signed. Missed out on corrosion inspection. But that, in my opinion is a croc. As if L.R do not build in corrosion resistance!....and as if your drive is going to rust in a normal ownership period! And if it does, not a good look for the L.R. marque. Further, a warranty issue was unearthed which maynot have been divulged by dealer service!

What was it and why do you suggest such ?

Sounds good! The dealer here in Brisbane quoted me $1200 for my 50k service on the defender. When pressed as to what they would do he couldn't quite say....

You don't need to use LR to do your service as long as it's done by a lisenced mechanic. When my turbo blew, just out of warranty, LR said they would pay half and would have paid the lot if they had done the services on it.

"Weeping" pinion seal, front diff. I hadn't noticed it. Maybe I am cynical of dealer service, but it will go in next time for warranty checkover....probably at 60,000 klm service which will be close to three years.

You should get it fixed pronto. Their maybe parts problems or other
issues that delay a resolution. It's best resolved whilst well in warranty.
I don't trust folk ............. you're on a countdown really.
