Hi,
I've seen lots of threads about twin fuel tanks on defenders here but mostly they seem to be about 110's and 130's. I've a 200Tdi 90 and I want to put another tank on it. I've been thinking about a Td5 tank at the rear but I'll need to cut back the rear cross member to get it in i believe. I don't want to do this as it's a brand new galvanized chassis which cost loads.

Anyway I'm sure there are tank options for my 90. Just want to get your opinion on it. Would rather not move the battery box either if possible.

I've been thinking about removing the rear silencer section of the exhaust and trying to put a tank in the rear of the chassis. But not sure how much space I'd have there for a tank.

I'm in the UK too. I've spoken to Safari Equipment :: Land Rover Spares & Accessories (http://www.safari-equip.co.uk/) who seem to charge almost £400 for a rear tank (shocking)

First things first , the 90 was no available in Australia until the TD5 and then was only sold for a couple of years . So they are rare as hens teeth as it is . So don't think any of the Aussie long range tank people even make a tank for a 200Tdi or 300 Tdi

How ever after saying that I do have a 300 Tdi 90 here in Aus with a long range tank

Mine is a safari one in Stainless . Which i am very happy with and worth the £400 . Although mine was fitted to the car in the uk nearly 5 years ago now . I think i got it a bit cheaper by offering cash and driving from southampton to Bradford to pick it up
I have heard people putting in TD5 tanks but seemed alot of hassle to do and end up costing them more than £400 by the time they have ****ed about with every thing .

Here are pics of mine fitted

The filler to the tank. Mine is filled from a Y piece on the original tank filler. So you can fill up both tanks at the same time

Reads90 any chance you can measure your tank. I've found a company that makes thousands of tanks. I'm sure I can find one the same size off the shelf. They seem really cheap too.
